CEO
William Weiss (54) is a veteran electronics engineer, product strategist, and manufacturing expert with more than three decades of experience bringing cutting-edge technologies to market at global scale.
Educated in Electronic Engineering at Wits University in Johannesburg, South Africa, William also holds multiple post-graduate certifications in design for manufacturability, production process development, and advanced manufacturing systems β with particular specialization in LED electronics.
William began his career designing automotive security systems for General Motors South Africa, and quickly expanded his expertise into aerospace, working with firms like Motorola, Boeing, and the U.S. Military on mission-critical electronics systems. His early exposure to high-performance engineering environments set the stage for his role as one of the founding pioneers in LED lighting β beginning with some of the first commercial applications of the blue LED and LED-based backlighting for municipal street signage.
As founder and executive at MSI Lighting and other ventures, William helped define the modern LED lighting industry. He not only designed core technologies, but built and operated high-efficiency production lines in China, where he continues to maintain deep operational relationships.
His experience spans the entire product lifecycle: from electronics and mechanical design to mass-scale production, global supply chain management, and field deployment. William is also credited with [XX] awarded patents across LED systems, electronics integration, and manufacturing processes.
Today, William leads the execution of our products, managing both its core engineering systems and the infrastructure required to scale globally. He brings not only the vision to innovate, but the tactical experience to make it real β efficiently, reliably, and at scale.
